Sneak Peek – Quinceañera Edition

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Next weekend I’ll be shooting a Quinceañera.  For those of you not familiar with this hard to pronounce word, it is the Hispanic version of the sweet 16.  Some, not all, Latin countries have this sweet 16 on steroids called a Quinceañera.  It’s kind of like a mini wedding, and it comes with a mini wedding price tag as well.   I have known Amy since she was yay high (that’s about the height of my knees), she was my little shadow when she was little.  So when her mom asked me to photograph her Quince, I jumped at the chance.  We did some test shots yesterday and I’m so excited for the real thing next week.  Here’s a sneak peek… stay tuned for next week.

San Diego 2011

Saturday, July 16th, 2011

Every year, for the last couple of years, I get to go to San Diego on business. Last year was a great year for pictures, if you’ve been here before you probably saw my last San Diego post.  This year, however, I had a lot less time to shoot.  My fancy, shmancy  camera went along for the ride but didn’t see much outside the bag.  Thankfully the handy iPhone is always nearby.  I packed up the girls this time and off we went.  I love road trips, so capturing the side of the road is actually something I enjoy :D .

CLICK HERE to take a ride with me down to San Diego and back.  Happy Friday!  (Well, technically it’s already Saturday)

P.S. The road trip got started to a nasty accident on the freeway.  Truck actually rolled over out of the freeway into the ditch… OUCH!
