I met Monica & Darus not too long ago and instantly fell in love with them and their story. She was Beyoncé and he is the most chill dude who loves to surf, camp and the simple things in life. From the beginning it didn’t seem like they’d go together but they just fit. On their first date he asked her to “bring it in” for their first kiss and when he proposed, in front of all their friends, he asked her to make him the happiest man west of the Mississippi (I spell that out in my head very fast for the giggles). Shooting their engagement was a blast. Good thing they were waiting for me with margaritas because I spent half the time in the water from the waist down.
Their wedding was this past weekend and I can’t wait to share those pictures with you, but until then, here are the pictures that had me working like a boss.

I love baby bumps, who doesn’t?! So when my friend Diana asked me to come along to her niece’s baby shower, of course I jumped at the chance and brought my camera in tow. After growing my very own two little humans, I know how precious that moment is when you’re celebrating the new, precious life you’ll soon bring into the world. Congratulations and happy pushing!

There’s something magical about weddings. Two people joining their lives to embark on an amazing journey together. It’s even more magical when it’s a dear friend marrying her soul mate. It was beautiful, it was intimate, and it was perfect. I wish you two the very best as husband and wife. Love you!

And it goes a little something like this….
I graduated from high school with Carlos & Nicki. I was new to the school in 11th grade so I didn’t know the history that came with these two until much later. By the time I arrived they were no longer a couple, and they wouldn’t be again for years to come.
Their love affair began at Olive Vista Middle School and it carried into high school. Now this is where things get a little sketchy so I will skip over the next few years and fast forward to now. They remained friends over the years and saw each other through relationships that didn’t last. If you believe in true love, then you’ll know that it’s what guided them back into each other’s arms. They will be tying the knot next month.
Their journey might have taken a slight detour but came right back to where it needed to be. Congratulations on your happily ever after.

I’ve know Ivan since he was a young boy and Gildey since she was a teenager, so when they asked me to photograph their wedding day I was so excited I think I even did a little happy dance. I saw them grow up and was surprised when I found out these sneaky little ones were dating. I saw them go from friends to significant others and their journey was a beautiful one to watch.
I wish you guys the best on your journey together. Remember to always love and respect each other, even through the hardest of times, so that you may come out of the storms stronger… together. I love you guys.
